Savage & Cooke: An American Distillery by Dave Phinney
SITUATION
Savage and Cooke distillery enlisted the services of Monahan PR to manage the launch of their distillery from the build stage. Our responsibilities included promoting the distillery's launch and raising awareness of their brand through various channels. We aimed to introduce Savage and Cooke to the spirits community and connect with the wider community of craft beverage enthusiasts. Additionally, we highlighted the quality of their products and their commitment to using eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
STRATEGY
Our approach to promoting Savage and Cooke distillery involved leveraging a balance between Dave Phinney's well-known reputation in the wine industry and the exceptional quality of their liquor. We developed a 360-degree approach that encompassed traditional media, creative strategy, and social media, with the aim of saturating the market. We executed traditional placements centered around the distillery, the bourbons, and Dave Phinney, and also created a range of imagery and video for branding and marketing purposes. Moreover, we built a highly engaged community of loyalists to the brand through our social media efforts.
RESULTS
Our partnership with Savage and Cooke has yielded exceptional results over the past six years. Their bourbon has gained widespread recognition and is now available in 48 states, establishing itself as an industry leader and trailblazer for bourbons aged in wine. Through our comprehensive marketing approach, we have reached an audience of billions, helping to launch multiple other products including Ready-To-Drink cocktails, reserve whiskeys, and hand sanitizer during the pandemic. Our efforts have also resulted in building a highly engaged community on social media, which has fostered strong brand loyalty. We established a distinct and recognizable brand identity for Savage and Cooke through our imagery, video, and graphic design, which have contributed to the brand's continued success.
